Towing capability
Load up. Toyota towing technology means 4×4 HiLux variants have a 3.5-tonne braked towing capacity[G6][K12].
4x4
The HiLux SR 4×4 Double-Cab Auto, SR5, Rogue and GR Sport feature rear differential lock, low range 4WD and Downhill Assist Control[S1].
Boost your drive with V-Active technology
A 48-volt motor-generator system that assists engine performance and regenerates through deceleration is now available for the HiLux SR and SR5 (4×4 double-cab AT only) and Rogue.
Power assistance
Enjoy the responsive drive feel from assisted acceleration with added torque.
Multi-Terrain Select (MTS)

Trailer Sway Control
Stay on the straight and narrow and tow safely. HiLux comes standard with Trailer Sway Control, an intelligent safety technology designed to correct and help minimise sway[S1].
Downhill Assist Control
Simply push a button to activate Downhill Assist Control, designed to help you avoid locking up on slippery, steep and rocky downhill sections. Standard on SR 4×4 Double-Cab Auto, SR5 4×4, Rogue and GR Sport.
Road Sign Assist
Front mounted smart cameras recognise certain Australian speed signs and alert you when it’s time to change your speed[S1].
Pre-Collision Safety system
Using the HiLux’s built-in camera and radar, the Pre-Collision Safety (PCS) system has been designed to alert you when a frontal collision is likely with another vehicle, pedestrian or Daytime Cyclist, and if required will help you apply the right amount of brake pressure[S1].
Lane Departure Alert
The HiLux will sound a buzzer and display a visual warning on the Multi-Information Display, if it senses you have veered out of your lane while travelling at more than 50km/h[S1].
High-Speed Active Cruise Control
Using its built-in camera and front-grille-mounted radar, HiLux keeps you at a pre-selected speed, automatically accelerating and decelerating with the traffic in front[S1].
